Recycling Week in Beech Class
15th Oct 2024
This week we have been living 'Life in all its Fullness' by celebrating Recycling Week at Forest School. Mrs Smith raided her recycling box and found some old tins, cardboard boxes and newspaper. We worked together with Miss Parsonage to create some mini bug-hotels. We cut out some different lengths of carboard and rolled them up to make different sized holes. They then searched for some twigs and carefully placed them all into a clean tin can. There are different sized holes for different bugs to visit. The bugs and insects are going to sleep over the cold winter so hopefully our hotels will give them somewhere cosy to sleep. We finished by tying some string around it to hand from a tree. We need to make sure the can is on a tilt so the rain can't get in.
Maybe you could see what is in your recycling box at home and have a go yourself!
