Welcome back to Blossom Class
We have been living life in all its fullness over the last two weeks in Blossom class. The children have settled back into the school routine really well and have had lots of fun.
We started the new year by revisiting the story 'The Colour Monster' which helps the children to learn about how they are feeling. The children remembered the story well and some were able to use the Makaton signs for happy, sad and angry. They enjoyed making their own monsters out of playdoh and deciding how their monster might be feeling. Thankfully, most of the monsters were happy! We then moved on to the story 'The Three Billy Goats Gruff' which the children have really enjoyed. We read the story using puppets and all the children enjoyed being the angry and hungry troll!
Last Monday and Tuesday, the children loved bringing the snow in the classroom to play with and we were very excited to make 'snow castles'. We also had fun mark making with cars in paint and were able to spot all the different tyre marks and shapes. This week they have enjoyed a PE session with coach Alice, who was very impressed with their throwing and catching skills and we were also joined by Miss Parsonage for an impromptu gymnastics lesson focusing on our jumping skills! Well done Blossom class!
