In Year One, our current topic is learning all about Islam and Muslims.
We have found out lots of new and interesting things!
We have learned that Muslims must pray 5 times a day. They use a prayer mat to do this, and it must be facing towards Mecca to show respect. Muslims also visit a special place called a Mosque.
We also discovered that there are 5 special rules, called the 5 Pillars of Islam. They involve belief, prayer, charity, fasting and pilgrimage.
We made our very own pillars and matched them to the 5 pillars.
We have really enjoyed learning about Islam!
