Who is Malala Yousafazi?

21st Oct 2021

This term we have been learning about Malala Yousafazi and the positive impact she has had on the world. We can tell you lots of facts about Malala and have worked so hard on this topic.

We have learned that when she was younger, she was not allowed to go to school in Pakistan because she was a girl. However, she continued to go to school in Pakistan, which almost cost her her life!

Malala believed that all girls should be able to go to school and gave various speeches about girls being entitled to go to school.  She moved to Birmingham in 2013 and won a Nobel Peace Prize for campaigning for girl's right to an education.

During this topic we compared where Malala was born to where we live. We discussed the similarities and differences between these two places and located Birmingham and Pakistan on a map.

We have also talked about how we would have felt if we could not go to school.
