Reception Trip to Bishops Wood
We had a fantastic day at Bishops Wood, exploring nature and enjoying the outdoors.
We started with a story about Katy the Caterpillar, which reminded us of our own class caterpillars. Then we went pond dipping, making sure to stay safe, where we found newts, water boatmen, an axolotl and many other creatures.
Next, we went bug hunting and discovered more newts, worms, ants, ladybirds and beetles. After lunch, we created land art—some of us built houses for The Three Little Pigs, while others made our favourite creatures like dragons.
We finished our day in the meadow, using nets to carefully catch and observe more bugs before returning them safely.
We had a lovely day learning about different little creatures and experiencing life in all its fullness!
