Wonderful World Book Day

6th Mar 2025

Wow Maple class have truly been 'Living Life in all it's Fullness' this week by celebrating our love of reading and World Book Day.

We made the most of the sunshine this week and took our reading books outside, to enjoy quiet reading time. Some of us shared books together with a friend and we also read the next chapter of our class book - Flat Stanley, on the benches.

For our World Book Day text, we read a story called 'The Sea Saw' all about a little girl called Sophia who lost her teddy bear. The sea tried to help by carrying the bear across oceans, lakes and rivers until one day a little girl finds the bear and takes it to show her Grandma. Grandma scoops up the bear and we realise she is Sophia and it has taken a long time for the bear to come back to her. 'Things are never truly lost if the memories stay in your heart.'

We made Lost Bear posters and placed them around the school for everyone to see. We also enjoyed completing a children's art class where we followed the skills to draw a bear. We have some very talented artists in Maple class. Finally, we completed some bear activities when our parents came for the English workshop.

We have had a wonderful World Book Day!
