Wonderful Writing!
30th Nov 2023
In Fir, we have definitely been living life in all its fullness as we explore different genres of writing.
This half term we have written poems about fireworks, and in reading The Jolly Postman, we have created letters to different fairytale characters, as well as a recipe for our own magic potion!
There are lots of things to learn about writing in Year One, such as capital letters, full stops, finger spaces, using our phonics knowledge to make new words, using adjectives to make our writing more exciting and using conjunctions to join our sentences together. We also have to make sure our letters are on the line and that they are formed correctly, starting and finishing in the correct place. We work very hard every day to make sure our writing is as wonderful as we are!
