This week in Willow Class, we have been developing our writing skills through our learning based on the story Supertato. We have enjoyed labelling supermarket pictures and working hard to independently write sentences, using adjectives to describe the characters. We are very proud of how confidently we are beginning to apply our phonics knowledge, including digraphs and trigraphs, in our writing.
In phonics, we have also been practising our new handwriting positions to support correct letter formation during activities. Alongside this, we have been building their fine motor skills through mark making in rice and punching patterns into card, helping to strengthen the muscles needed for writing.
It has been wonderful to see how we are showing enthusiasm and perseverance as we continue living life in all its fullness through our learning.
